Learn how to use the Compare Products dashboard

The Compare Products dashboard is an Essential plan feature.

Summary

Compare products using the Compare Product Dashboard to understand better how the sales of one product can have either a negative or positive impact on other lines.

  • Compare specific products against each other to understand the potential cannibalisation of lines during a promotion

  • Analyse Sales Value, Volume, and Average Price per product to gain a deeper insight into product performance.

Setting up the dashboard

The dashboard gives you seven configuration options in the top bar, from left to right:

  • Product Grouping: change whether the left bar chart shows Categories, Subcategories, Brands or SKUs. The default setting is SKU.
  • Select Metric: Choose the metric you want to display on the breakdown and time series. The default setting is Sales Value.
  • Start Date: Set the start date to view the dashboard.
  • End Date: Set the end date to view the dashboard up to.
  • Time breakdown: Set the time breakdown to view the data by, Day, Retailer Week, Calendar Week or Calendar Month. The default is Retailer Week

What's on screen

There are three types of component on-screen, from top to bottom:

  • KPI tile: the KPI summary tiles along the top show the totals for Sales Value, Sale Volume, Rate of Sale Value and Rate of Sale Volume across the selected date range.
  • Product breakdown bar chart: on the left of the screen is a bar chart for the selected metric by your chosen product level. Select multiple products to show on the time series.
  • Time series: On the right of the screen there are three time series charts all covering the selected date range. When no products are selected on the breakdown they all show a total for all products by default. However, once you select some products a line per product will be shown for the first two time series charts.
    • The first time series shows a line for the selected metric; either a single line for total or a line per product depending if you have made any selections.
    • The second time series shows a line for the average price; either a single line for the average price at a total level or a line per product.

💡 The line colours of the top two time series will match the bar colours on the breakdown, allowing you to compare your products

    • The last time series shows a cumulative total by day for your selected metric. When no products are selected this shows total sales for example. However, if you have selected some products on the breakdown, this shows the total sales for the selected products only.
