Exclude products

Learn to exclude unwanted or delisted products from your SKUtrak service

Permissions Required

You must be the Organisation Owner or have the "Product Matching Manager" role to exclude a product.

You may want to exclude all or some of the data recorded against a product from your SKUtrak dashboards and any outbound connections. For example, you may want to exclude a product if:

  • The product has been incorrectly assigned to you. Mistakes happen, and sometimes you'll see data that doesn't belong to you. While it's preferable to fix this at source, sometimes that isn't possible, and so excluding the product from SKUtrak is a good alternative.
  • The product has been delisted. Some data can continue to be shown for products after they are delisted, such as remaining stock or very sporadic sales. These can impact overall availability figures and add noise, so many choose to add a timebound exclusion after the delisting date.
  • The brand has been acquired or sold. Your organisation may have parted ways with a brand or subset of its portfolio. This can take some time to be reflected in the feed, so exclusions are a good way to ensure the numbers remain accurate.

To help with this, SKUtrak lets you create "Exclusions". Excluded products are not shown in SKUtrak dashboards and can be easily filtered out through DataShare using the Product Group functionality.

Exclusions are applied to the Retailer SKU and can be time-bound if for example you only want to exclude a product after a certain date. Exclusions can be created from the Pending or Exclusions pages within Product Matching

To exclude a product:

  1. Go to Data Management > Product Matching and select Exclusions on the left-hand side.
  2. Above the "Product Exclusions" table, click the "+ Add Exclusion" button
  3. On the pop-up that appears, click into "Select retailer product" and use the search bar, or, select from the list a product to exclude from the Pending matches
  4. (Optional) Click "+ Add" under "Add time frames" to set a specific period the product will be excluded for only
  5. Click "Save"
  6. 🎉 That's it! Your excluded product will now not show on the "Pending" page, and will be added to the "Product Exclusions" table.

💡 You can also exclude a product whilst making or editing a match (Master matching a product / Edit or remove a product match), via the "Exclude" shortcut button on the pop-up

💡 Need to remove an exclusion?

In the "Product Exclusions" table, just click the checkbox against the product you want to remove the exclusion for, then, in the blue table header, click either:

  • "Delete" to remove the exclusion completely

  • "Edit" to adjust the exclusion time frames
