Learn how to use Export Templates to save time exporting data.
This feature is currently in preview, and is only available to users with Experimental Features enabled.
What are Export Templates?
Export Templates save you time by allowing you to reuse the same configuration for recurring exports.
When creating a template, you set up all the usual options - including time window, retailers, metrics, products, and locations. By using a relative date window (e.g. Yesterday, Last 7 days), the template always pulls in the most recent data. There’s no need to update the dates manually.
Example
If you run the same export every Monday to review the past week’s sales:
-
Create a template with your usual settings.
-
Choose ‘7D’ as the time window.
-
Each Monday, just log in and click Run - your data will be ready.
How to create an Export Template
There are two ways to create a template: from the Create Export window or the Templates page.
Option 1: From the Create Export window
You can create a Template directly from the Create Export window:
-
Go to Exports > Manage Exports.
-
Click + Create Export.
-
Select Start from Scratch.
-
Configure your export:
-
Choose a relative time window. This includes preset options like:
-
Yesterday
-
Last 7 days
-
Last X days/weeks
-
-
Avoid using a fixed time window - templates can only be created with relative dates.
-
-
Once your export is configured, click Save Template (bottom right).
-
In the pop-up:
-
Enter a name for your template.
-
Optionally, add a description to help others understand its use.
-
-
Click Save.
Your template is now ready. To use it immediately, click Create Export in the bottom right.
Option 2: From the Templates page
You can also create a template directly from the Templates page:
-
Go to Exports > Template.
-
Click + Create Template (top right).
-
Enter a name for your template.
-
Optionally, add a description.
-
Configure your export settings.
-
Use the Preview button to check the output (optional).
-
Once you’re happy, click Create Template (bottom right).
Your template is now saved and ready to use.
